Children and Families Services

In Portsmouth we have made significant investment in our social work service, believing that 'Social Work matters'. When Ofsted visited us in June 2014 they noted that social workers in Portsmouth "care about the children they are helping. Social workers work hard to make sure children know what the plan for their future care will be. Children's and parents' views are listened to and written down, and this is helping social workers, managers and other professionals to make good decisions".

Senior managers in Children and Families Services know their services well, they are visible and are outward-looking. The service is committed to continuous improvement, inviting feedback and external scrutiny to ensure that the services are effective.

Children and Families Services has responsibility for:

  • Early Help and Prevention
